Behavior Training

School-Wide Positive Behavior
Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS) Workshops

Tier 1: Universal Systems

A two-day workshop discussing essential elements and implementation of SW-PBIS at the school level.

School personnel will learn to:

  • identify and create behavioral expectations across settings (i.e., behavior expectation matrix),

  • develop effective lesson plans for teaching all behavioral expectations,

  • establish and implement effective incentive and reward programs,

  • select and implement effective alternatives to removal and restorative discipline techniques,

  • analyze school-wide discipline data to make data-based decisions regarding compliance, integrity, and behavioral outcomes.

Tier 2: Supplemental Behavior Support Systems

A two day workshop discussing essential elements and implementation of SW-PBIS for supporting students at Tier 2.

School personnel will learn to:

  • identify students potentially in need of supplemental or secondary supports through gated screening measures,

  • establish and implement Tier 2 supports (e.g., Behavior Education Program or Check-in/Check-out, behavior contracts, social skills provision, mediation strategies, etc.),

  • utilize progress monitoring measures for evaluating student response to intervention,

  • evaluate the compliance and fidelity of intervention implementations

Additionally, we will review staff submitted cases to offer consultation and feedback on specific students as part of the learning process

Tier 3: Intensive, Individualized Behavior Supports

A four-day workshop discussing essential elements and implementation of SW-PBIS for supporting students at Tier 3.

Over the first two days, school personnel will learn to:

  • identify students potentially in need of Tier 3 or Tertiary supports through gated screening measures,

  • complete accurate multi-modal Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA),

  • develop multi-component function-based Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP),

  • utilize progress monitoring measures for evaluating student response to intervention,

  • evaluate the compliance and fidelity of intervention implementation.

For days three and four, we will review staff submitted cases to offer consultation and feedback on specific students, as part of the learning process.
