Fluency Plus, LLC personnel provide professional training on a variety of topics related to School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS) and behavioral Response to Intervention (RtI) for school personnel. SW-PBIS Tier 1: Universal Systems

This two day workshop provides school personnel with the essential elements for effectively implementing behavioral supports for students at the Tier 1 or Universal level of the SW-PBIS model.

Typical attendees: School-based PBIS team members including administrators, general education teachers, special education teachers, behavior specialists, other school support personnel (e.g., academic interventionists, mental health service providers, school counselors, school psychologists, etc).

This training is designed to teach school personnel how to:
  • identify and create behavioral expectations across settings (i.e., behavior expectation matrix),
  • develop effective lesson plans for teaching all behavioral expectations,
  • identify and implement effective incentive and reward programs,
  • select and implement effective alternatives to removal and restorative discipline techniques,
  • and analyze school-wide discipline data to make data-based decisions regarding compliance, integrity, and behavioral outcomes.

SW-PBIS Tier 2: Secondary or Supplemental Behavior Support Systems

This two day workshop provides school personnel with the essential elementary for effectively implementing behavioral supports for students at the Tier 2 level of the SW-PBIS model.

Typical attendees: At a minimum, administrators and behavior support personnel including behavior specialists, school counselors, school psychologists, and mental health service providers. Other PBIS team members are encouraged to attend the training.

This training is designed to teach school personnel how to:
  • identify students potentially in need of Supplemental or Secondary supports through gated screening measures,
  • identify and implement Tier 2 supports (e.g., Behavior Education Program or Check-in/Check-out, behavior contracts, social skills provision, mediation strategies, etc.),
  • utilize progress monitoring measures for evaluating student response to intervention,
  • and evaluate the compliance and fidelity of intervention implementation.

The second day of training is scheduled with school personnel as a follow-up to the didactic training where school personnel submit case studies for Tier 2 students and direct consultation and feedback is provided in a group-based format.

SW-PBIS Tier 3: Intensive and Individualized Behavior Support Systems

This four day workshop provides school personnel with the essential elementary for effectively implementing behavioral supports for students at the Tier 3 level of the SW-PBIS model.

Typical attendees: At a minimum, members of the school-based Teacher Support Team (TST) and all behavioral support personnel should attend. Other PBIS team members are encouraged to attend the training.

The first two days of training are designed to teach personnel how to:
  • identify students potentially in need of Tier 3 or Tertiary supports through gated screening measures,
  • accurately complete multi-modal functional behavioral assessments (FBA),
  • develop multi-component function-based behavior intervention plans (BIP),
  • utilize progress monitoring measures for evaluating student response to intervention,
  • and evaluate the compliance and fidelity of intervention implementation.

The third and fourth days of training are scheduled with school personnel as a follow-up to the didactic training where school personnel submit case studies for Tier 3 students. Direct consultation and feedback is provided in group and individual formats.
